Aquila and Aaron – Wedding at Castle McCulloch

So it’s August and you’d expect it to be hot, hot, hot. But we were BLESSED with cooler temperatures on the day of Aquila and Aaron’s wedding. It was a beautiful day at Castle McCulloch with the ceremony performed under the tent and reception in the Crystal Gardens. Create A Cake provided the catering and decorations and as always with them, service was exemplary.

Cover Shoot for Triad Weddings Magazine at the Historical Carolina Theatre

I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph the cover for the Fall/Winter issue for TriadWeddings Magazine at the Historical Carolina Theatre in downtown Greensboro last month. Since the magazine has now been released, I think it’s a good time to post a few photos from the shoot. Flowers provided by the incomparable Wayne Hurst of Floral Vision Design Studio. Hair and makeup by Updo’s.

So brides to be, if you’re looking for something different, be sure to put the Carolina Theatre on your list of venues to visit. Ask about seeing your names in the Marquee.

A Greensboro Wedding ~ Melanie & David

Melanie and David were married July 3rd at Christ United Methodist Church followed by a reception at Starmount Country Club.

I arrived early afternoon to get a few detail shots and some posed group shots. David’s gift to his groomsmen were official NFL jerseys ( team and player of their choice). What a fun group as they decided to take a few “formals” while playing football.
Melanie looked absolutely stunning in her gown as she was escorted down the aisle by a very proud dad. I wish I had the writing skills to describe what an elegant and classic vision she is.

With that in mind, I felt compelled to process David and Melanie’s post in a vintage tone. I just thought it suited the feel of the day.

Congratulations the two of you. I want to thank you and your families for allowing me to be a part of your day.

PS Post on “Doctor Dave” coming soon. Hope to reflect his personality. Sometimes the groom gets to get airtime ya know?

North Carolina Wedding Photography at the Hayloft- Sara & James

Sara & James were married at the Hayloft on May 30th. The setting suited these to Veterinarians perfectly. And as you can tell from the photos, even though the temperature was high, the party never stopped.

Nicole and Cody – North Carolina Wedding

Judy Auger and I drove down to Waxhaw, North Carolina May 22, 2010 to photograph the wedding of Nicole and Cody. Their ceremony was held at Weddington UMC followed by the reception at Nicole’s parents house. We were all holding our breath hoping the thunderstorms would pass us by. It looked questionable for a while but our prayers were answered when the day turned out to be more than hoped for. The reception was stunning and the party was kept in full swing by the music provided by Split Second Sound and DJ.

Congratulations Nicole and Cody. Judy and I wish you both the very best life has to offer. We are privileged to have been a part of your wedding.

Greensboro NC Wedding – Marcella and Tom

Judy Auger and I had a wonderful time this past Saturday photographing the wedding of Marcella and Tom. Lucky for us the ceremony was at the new St. Pius Catholic Church on Elm Street. After months of construction, everything was completed in time, and according to monsignore, Marcella’s mom had a hand it making sure everything stayed on schedule. The church is beautiful.
Following the ceremony, Marcella, Tom, family and friends held their reception at the Proximity Hotel.
We wish you guys the best of luck with your new life together.

Catherine & John – Wedding on Jekyll Island, Georgia

Catherine and John were married on April 8th in a small intimate ceremony at the Jekyll Island Club down in Georgia. Following a trip to Mexico, they will be holding their reception at Greensboro Country Club on May 1st.

Hallie and Austin – After Hours Session

I shot Hallie and Austin’s wedding back in August. But during the course of the events, we had very little time to spend getting the “alone time shots”. Hallie called me a couple of weeks ago, asking if I thought she was crazy to suggest we do another shoot of them dressed up in their wedding attire. Crazy? Heck NO! I thought it was an amazing idea. I’ve now added the option of an After Hours Session to my wedding packages.

Wedding days are so packed with ceremony and friends and family and events that couples sometimes end up spending very little time with each other one on one. The After Hours Session is a great way to get those shots you just don’t have the time to get on the day of the wedding. Everybody is relaxed, not worried about the dress getting dirty, not worried about talking to all the guests.

Here are a few of my favorite shots taken during Hallie and Austin’s After Hours Session:

This was taken pointing the camera into the sun. I sometimes love the effect this creates.

Colleen and Keith

Great wedding, great weather and great couple. I couldn’t have scripted a better day. Colleen and Keith were married at my favorite church, Our Lady of Grace in Greensboro and held the reception at the ever lovely Revolution Mill. Colleen looked stunning in her wedding gown. I loved working with the wedding party. The guys were all about getting their photo taken and had one idea after the other.

Amy and Justin – Wedding at Burke Manor

We all kept our fingers crossed the rain would hold off for Amy and Justin’s outdoor wedding at Burke Manor. It turned out to be a perfect day for photography. The cloudy sky acted as a giant softbox and lended itself to making the Fall colors pop. I had had the opportunity to meet the Warf family at a previous wedding and was once again struck by just how close everybody is to each other. It’s so very obvious to everybody just how much love these families share.
