A Greensboro Wedding ~ Melanie & David

Melanie and David were married July 3rd at Christ United Methodist Church followed by a reception at Starmount Country Club.

I arrived early afternoon to get a few detail shots and some posed group shots. David’s gift to his groomsmen were official NFL jerseys ( team and player of their choice). What a fun group as they decided to take a few “formals” while playing football.
Melanie looked absolutely stunning in her gown as she was escorted down the aisle by a very proud dad. I wish I had the writing skills to describe what an elegant and classic vision she is.

With that in mind, I felt compelled to process David and Melanie’s post in a vintage tone. I just thought it suited the feel of the day.

Congratulations the two of you. I want to thank you and your families for allowing me to be a part of your day.

PS Post on “Doctor Dave” coming soon. Hope to reflect his personality. Sometimes the groom gets to get airtime ya know?

Talina Bridal – Greensboro NC

Talina is a music major and wanted artsy images for her bridal portrait. We had amazing luck with the weather as Spring arrived just in time for us. We started the shoot at First Presbyterian Church and ended it by walking over to Holy Trinity. Even though the sun was a bit harsh and the flowers weren’t in bloom I think we used the architectural elements to our advantage. Here is a sneak peek at a few of Talina’s portraits.

Kim’s Unconventional Bridal Shoot

Now that Kim and Jeff have said their vows, I can now post a few of my favorites from Kim’s bridal session. We spent the first part of the shoot in a conventional fashion (Wedding gown, bouquet, etc). THEN as a special surprise for Jeff, Kim DRESSED UP! :

Jeff is the Jackman for Jeff Gordon. So Kim conspired with the help of her croonies and absconded with some of Jeff’s racing gear. Pit Row never looked so good.

Hallie and Austin – After Hours Session

I shot Hallie and Austin’s wedding back in August. But during the course of the events, we had very little time to spend getting the “alone time shots”. Hallie called me a couple of weeks ago, asking if I thought she was crazy to suggest we do another shoot of them dressed up in their wedding attire. Crazy? Heck NO! I thought it was an amazing idea. I’ve now added the option of an After Hours Session to my wedding packages.

Wedding days are so packed with ceremony and friends and family and events that couples sometimes end up spending very little time with each other one on one. The After Hours Session is a great way to get those shots you just don’t have the time to get on the day of the wedding. Everybody is relaxed, not worried about the dress getting dirty, not worried about talking to all the guests.

Here are a few of my favorite shots taken during Hallie and Austin’s After Hours Session:

This was taken pointing the camera into the sun. I sometimes love the effect this creates.

A Few of My Favorite Bridal Shots Never Before Posted

I tend to do a lot of bridal sessions and don’t want to post them before the wedding. Then after the wedding I get busy with editing and never seem to get around to posting the bridal photos. So because of my effort to keep my blog posts going, here are a few of my favorite bridal shots.

Amber’s bridal Session:
Amber and I had a hard time finding a time to shoot her bridal session because of her busy schedule and rainy weather. One week before her wedding we managed to meet at the Proximity Hotel and I’m so glad we did! As you can see from these photos, Amber is amazingly beautiful and FUN!

The first two shots were taken in a suite at Proximity Hotel using just window light.

This shot is just a bit on the artsy side. I shot with my lens wide open to give the image a bit of that ethereal essence.

Here’s Amber dressed up with a Cub’s hat as a surprise for Chevy since he’s such a huge fan.

Kathryn’s Bridal Session- Hodgin Valley Farm

Renee McCardell, Cari Chee and I got together with my daughter Taylor for a mock bridal session. Make-up was provided by the very talented Amy Gooch and Renee made the hat veils Taylor wore. Our day started with lunch at 12:30 and ended with supper at 7:30. Taylor was a trooper the whole day even though temperatures reached 90. We all had so much fun “playing”. Here are a few of the shots I took during our 3+ hours out and about.
