I had a rare moment to sit back and reflect the other day. Of course my thoughts, as most always, centered around photography. I was trying to explain to a friend what I experience whenever I put a camera to my eye. Since photography is a visual endeavor it’s sometimes hard to define via verbal means. I mentioned a Zen like feeling that overtakes me, where the world fades away and I’m just in the moment. I expressed how a camera allows me to see the scenes around me in a different dimension. But still I couldn’t quite find the words to express my inner workings.
Then it dawned on me this morning, photography is my voice. My voice without sound. When I was in primary school, I think around the age of 11, I tried out for the choir. Standing next to the piano, “singing” do, re, me the choir director basically told me “thanks but no thanks”. From that day on, I only mouth the words to happy birthday. But now, with camera in hand, I sing. I sing at the top of my voice. I sing with joy in my heart and with the wonder of a child. I now can EXPRESS my inner self. What a glorious, wonderful gift to have found.
May you all find your voice, whether through painting, singing, photography, etc. Never stop the search…It’s there inside you and one day you too WILL find it. And then you will never have to “mouth” the words again!

Photoidentities Service
Bringing my new site live went off relatively smoothly. I am in the process of transferring over customer galleries and hope to have it complete by this weekend.
I wanted to thank Photoidentities for their wonderful service. I’ve not experience such prompt and friendly response to my questions in a long time. Last night I sent off an email to them with several questions. Answers and solutions came back from them via a phone call to me within 5 minutes. Thanks bunches! I couldn’t be happier. If you’re looking for a web design and hosting company I highly recommend them.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
